Description
Twitch had a problem — viewers weren’t tuning in on time for Rivals events, and the pre-stream dead zone was killing momentum. They brought us in to fix it. We conceptualized, art directed, and produced a series of Pre-Game Shows that blended pre-rendered animation with live, reactive performance — all plugged directly into Twitch chat. Trivia, mini-games, and real-time audience interaction turned passive waiting into an event in itself. What started as a solution to an attendance problem became a cultural shift in how viewers showed up — and stayed. The concept proved so effective that Twitch rolled out similar programming across their own channels, setting a new standard for what a livestream experience could be before the stream even begins.

What began as a pre-game fix evolved into something far bigger. The success of the Pre-Game Show opened the door to a full Mid-Stream content system — and eventually became the defining look and feel of the entire Rivals channel. The Mid-Stream experience expanded the original trivia format into a live ecosystem of real-time leaderboards, player stats, upcoming event coverage, and integrated sponsorship moments. It wasn’t just a show anymore — it was a platform within a platform, keeping viewers locked in from the moment they arrived to the final play of the stream.
